Wish List | Ian & Felicity's Christmas Gift Guide
It's the first of December, so we thought it would be nice to put together a Christmas Wish List of the things we have had an eye on over the last few months. We are in the process of renovating our first house so there is definitely a theme of home-inspired gifts running throughout.
We hope you like it and perhaps find a little inspiration for your own. Please feel free to add any more suggestions to the list in the comments below.
The New Road Residence (above)
Located in Whitechapel, East London, The New Road Residence is a 1797 Georgian townhouse available for short and long term stays. Meticulously refurbished by the owner and artistic director of Shoreditch's immaculate fashion boutique Hostem, the interior is painted in rich colours and some of the carefully selected pieces of furniture and accessories are even available to buy.
The house has been a generous source of inspiration whilst designing our own home... a long weekend stay with friends would be top of our list.
Available to rent through The Modern House.
Crane Cookware
Earlier this summer, we spent a day at the seaside in Lyme Regis where we found a lovely interiors and gift shop called Ryder & Hinks. It was here that we discovered Crane Cookware and immediately loved it... clean, simple and timeless. Designed in England, cast in France.
Jono Smart Ceramics
Jono Smart designs and makes ceramics in Glasgow but unfortunately they are rarely available, as when his pieces do make it online, they sell out quickly. One day...
Ercol Windsor Cowhorn Chair
I am currently glued to ebay looking for pairs of old Ercol chairs, as I think they look even better with age. After recently acquiring two antique All Purpose Stickback Chairs, this is the next pair we have our eyes on.
The ones in the photo are available from Etsy here.
The Original Over-Shirt by Dobson and Article 001 by ERKN
DOBSON make wear-everyday all-year-round wardrobe staples using the finest British wool fabrics. We first met founder and designer Nina Dobson in Paris, where she was showing her collection at the same trade show as us. The quality of design and make is beautiful and at every show Ian spends quite some time hinting at his love for their over-shirts.
Article 001 boots are designed by ERKN in London and handmade in Italy.
Haeckels
Haeckels is a natural fragrance and skincare brand based in Margate.
A celebration of the coast, and more often that not containing Seaweed as a key ingredient, Haeckels products are quite literally 'Made of Margate'. Very, very, very nicely done.
We would particularly like to try their Seaweed/ Fennel Hand Cleanser.
Campbell Cole
Although it is our own product, there are pieces we never quite get the opportunity to use in earnest. I love using the Khaki Simple A5 Pouch but think the Navy Simple Slim Card Wallet and Navy Simple A5 Pouch may be the next two to slip out of the stockroom.
Haws Mister
The outside space at our new house is quite small but I'm excited to begin neatening it up and growing a few vegetables next summer. The garden is where I am at my happiest so I try to bring a little of it indoors and that way it is never completely out of mind during the colder months.
Made by hand in England since 1886, Haws make high quality garden accessories and this little mister would be perfect for our indoor succulents that don't like to be over-watered.
The brass mister in the photo is available from Botany.
Residents: Inside the Iconic Barbican Estate by Anton Rodriguez
Anton Rodriguez is a London based photographer who is lucky enough to live in the Barbican estate. As part of the VSCO Artist Initiative project, Anton has started a photo series documenting the intriguing mix of Barbican residents within the intimate settings of their own homes.
His newly released book, Residents: Inside the Iconic Barbican Estate, would make the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon curled up on the sofa putting together our next list. The dream list.
